ЭЙГЕТ (Agate), Джеймс Эвершед (9.XI.1877-6.VI. 1947) - англ. театр. критик. Лит. деятельность начал как театр. обозреватель газеты "Манчестер гардиен", затем "Сатерди ревью", в 1923-47 - "Санди тайме". Составил антологию англ. театр. -критики за 1660- 1932. Издал дневник, к-рый вел с 1932 (в девяти книгах). В работах Э. дается обширный ннформац. материал по истории англ. т-ра.
